PURPOSE:To prevent cutting of a transverse mode into sections by preparing a laser medium which is partitioned into the 1st and 2nd regions along directions to which facing reflecting surfaces are facing each other and disposing a pair of optical means by which laser light is injected and emitted at the side of each reflecting surface in the laser medium. CONSTITUTION:As laser light which is incident on and emitted from disposed surfaces of a laser medium 10 where optical means 20 are disposed is incident and emitted along the directions to which facing reflecting surfaces 11c and 13c and facing, all of laser beams in the beam radial direction of laser light that is advancing in the laser medium 10 processed into the 1st regions 11 and 13 as well as the 2nd region 12 because of the same circumstances. Then all of optical path lengths of laser light extending from injection on the laser medium 10 to emission become equal. Further, optical elements 20 which are equipped with the disposed faces 11e and 11f and inclined surfaces are adopted as optical means in such a manner that the disposed surfaces are disposed to the reflecting surfaces of the laser medium and the inclined surfaces are slant by making acute angles to the disposed surfaces so that incident laser can be emitted to the disposed surfaces. This makes the laser light totally reflected, alternately at the facing reflecting surfaces of the laser medium and the light incident on the above disposed surfaces. |
