PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer material forming a recording body excellent in heat resistance and friction resistance and having storage stability by successively providing a heat-meltable layer, a colored resin layer based on a thermoplastic resin having specific melt viscosity and an adhesive resin layer based on a thermoplastic resin having a specific softening point on a base material. CONSTITUTION:A heat-meltable layer, a colored resin layer and an adhesive resin layer are successively provided on a base material in this order and the colored resin layer is based on a thermoplastic resin having melt viscosity of 10<3>-10<6> cps (200 deg.C) and the adhesive resin layer is based on a thermoplastic resin having a softening point of 50-150 deg.C. By this constitution, a thermal transfer material giving a recording object having heat-resistance effect is formed. Since the adhesive resin layer is provided as the uppermost layer and the heat-meltable layer is provided as the layer nearest to the base material, the release from the base material at the time of printing is well and the transferability to transfer paper is also well. Since the colored resin layer based on the high viscosity thermoplastic resin is provided, the obtained recording body has good heat resistance and friction resistance. The heat-metable layer consists of wax and a thermoplastic resin and, as the wax compounded with the heat-meltable layer, one having an m.p. of 50-100 deg.C is used. |
