PURPOSE:To test the connection path of a hot standby processor and an active bus by providing a diagnostic mode to enable the hot standby processor and the active bus to be connected. CONSTITUTION:When a diagnostic request of a bus at a hot standby side is issued, an active processor 1 issues an instruction to start diagnosis to the hot standby processor 4 performs transmission to the hot standby processor 2. Similarly, an active processor 3 issues the instruction to start the diagnosis to the processor 2, and the processor 2 performs the test of a transfer operation via a hot standby bus 6 by receiving data transmitted from the processor 4 via the bus 6. Next, the transfer operation at an active side is interrupted transiently to test the connection path between the processors 2, 4 and a bus 5 by confirming the transfer operation between the processors 2 and 4 via the active bus 5, and a sweep out processing is performed on a processing being transferred. |
