The invention relates to a process for pest control in granular foodstuffs, which comprises introducing asphyxiating gas (for example N2, CO2) into the storage container which is filled with the foodstuff. To carry out such a process in a reliable manner combined with low gas consumption and relatively little effort, it is proposed to maintain the atmosphere of asphyxiating gas which has been established in the container after prior displacement flushing by pressure-controlled maintenance of a slight superatmospheric pressure in the container. |
