PURPOSE:To obtain an gelatin capsule agent prevented from insolubilization of gelatin by reaction with aldehyde and capable of satisfactorily maintaining disintegrating properties over a long period by adding tryptophan to packed contents. CONSTITUTION:Tryptophan is added to a packed contents obtained by blending an useful substance such as medicine or food with additives such as ordinarily used nontoxic excipient, binder, lubricant, stabilizer, coloring agent and tasting agent at an amount of >=0.01wt.%, preferably >=0.1wt.% to provide the gelatin capsule agent. When at least either either one of the useful substance and additives originally contains aldehydes or aldehydes are produced with the passage of time, the capsule agent is effective. When >=0.01wt.%, preferably >=0.1wt.% antioxidant (e.g. n-propyl gallate or dl-alpha-tocopherol) is further blended with the above-mentioned ingredients, retardation of disintegration of gelatin capsule is remarkably prevented by synergistic effects of the both. |
