PURPOSE:To absorb the nonuniformity in an optical power joined to an optical fiber, which is based on the nonuniformity in an output optical power of a light-emitting diode and a difference in an emission pattern, and thereby to improve the yield of a light-emitting diode array in a large degree by making a drive circuit set a drive current discretely. CONSTITUTION:A drive circuit 4 makes a drive current 12 of a light-emitting diode 9 intermittent in accordance with a logic signal 11 given to an input terminal 10. Moreover, the amplitude of the light-emitting diode drive current 12 is made variable by a semifixed resistor 13 provided in the drive circuit 4. After the light-emitting diode and an optical fiber array are coupled optically, in this light-emitting diode array device, an optical power coupled to a discrete optical fiber is measured and the semifixed resistor of each channel is adjusted so that the power be an expected value. |
