Motor vehicle combustion engine starter - uses special motor-driven pinion to rotate flywheel by engagement with forward teeth of reluctance rotor
摘要
The engine (1) has a flywheel (4) fixed to its crankshaft with two sets of teeth (41,42) which form a reluctance rotor. Sectors (5-8) of the reluctance-generator stator are wound with coils on toothed pole pieces. One set (42) of rotor teeth serves as gearingfor starting by engagement with the teeth (91) of a driving pinion (9) of the starter motor. The same principle is applicable also to a reluctance motor-generator having tangential instead of axial flux. ADVANTAGE - Simple starting is guaranteed with structurally uncomplicated and compact device when manual cranking is not possible.
