<p>Phosphonomethylated polyvinyl amines containing characteristic structural elements of formula (I), where R<1> is H, C1 to C6 alkyl or (II) and X is H, an alkali metal equivalent, ammonium equivalent or alkaline earth metal equivalent, process for preparing phosphonomethylated polyvinyl amines by phosphonomethylation of polymerizates containing N-vinyl amide groups or vinyl amine groups, and use of the phosphonomethylated polymerizates as additives in detergents and as agents for treating water.</p> |
