Measuring path of motion of point moving in plane or space - using three displacement transducers with scales in edge of region of anticipated path

The motion measuring method involves setting up three displacement transducers (1-3) each with a scale at defined mutual separations (d1-d3) in the edge region of the anticipated path of motion. The sepn. distances of the basic configuration are determined by cyclically connecting the scales with the adjacent transducers. The body orientation is measured by connecting the scales of two transducers to the body at one point (4) and the end of the third scale to a separate point (5). ADVANTAGE - Simple path measurement is achieved economically and with great flexibility.
