Increasing vol. of continuous synthetic multifilament yarn - by winding around grooved wheels in triangular formation

Increase of the vol. of continuous synthetic multifilament yarn which has been texturised by crimping, flexing and friction comprises subjecting it to further friction by winding it around three grooved wheels, in triangular formation, in which the bottom axle is brought round until the yarn forms a tight twist. The appts. is also claimed. USE - To bulk up the yarn, giving better handle and cover in the fabric, and to resembly natural fibres. The texturised yarn is wound in direction over the grooved wheels and the bottom wheel is turned in such a manner that the yarn : forms a twist , and that the surfaces of the yarn are brought close to each other, the twist angle being at least 180 deg.
