A process for hardening sand mould members esp. mould cores made of synthetic resin bound sand, includes using a catalyst, mixing it with a carrier gas, mixing with the sand, pressing the sand, retrieving the gas and hardening. The catalyst is cleansed and collected in the gas phase, and the impurities are removed. The removal of impurities is carried out by a permeation process. ADVANTAGE - The process cleansing technique is simple and economical.
