Applying highly viscous medium - involves use of low pressure pump and high pressure pump in series

The system for applying a highly viscous medium has the medium stored in a tank (1). A low pressure pump (2) pumps the medium from the tank (1) and delivers it to a high pressure pump (3). The two pumps (2, 3) are driven by a motor (10). The high pressure pump (3) delivers the medium to the spray gun (7). Any of the medium in excess of that required by the spray gun (7) is returned through a by-pass valve (5) to the inlet of the low pressure pump (2). The low pressure pump is of the impeller type whilst the high pressure pump is of the plunger type. USE - Applying a highly viscous medium.
