A surface region of the organism (Org) is treated by an applicator (App1) to be heated or cooled from a temp-generating appts. (TGen). The latter can operate according to the thermo-dynamic principle or work like Peltier elements. It can contain a coolant or heat pump. Alternatively, it uses a bivalent pump. The applicator has at least two heat exchanging elements (T+,T-). At least one serves to collect the temp. generated while at least one other serves to apply the temp. generated to the organism. USE/ADVANTAGE - Rapid and low pain heating. Even distribution over affected area.
