<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the degradation of a picture by using a weighted picture element, plural peripheral picture elements, the reduced picture element preceding a reduced picture element to be determined, the reduced picture element just above the weighted picture element on the preceding line, and the reduced picture element preceding this reduced picture element as reference picture elements for filter operation to determine the reduced picture element. CONSTITUTION:The picture stored in a frame memory 1 is inputted to a filter operation part 2 at each raster, and already reduced picture elements are inputted to the filter operation part 2 through a feed back line 71. The filter operation part 2 performs the operation among the weighted picture element to be subjected to reduction processing, peripheral picture elements, and already reduced binary picture elements. That is, plural peripheral picture elements including the noticed picture element to be subjected to reduction processing as well as at least the reduced picture element preceding the reduced picture element to be determined, the reduced picture element just above the weighted picture element on the preceding line, and the reduced picture element preceding this reduced picture element out of already reduced picture elements are used as reference picture elements for the filter operation to determine the reduced picture element value. Thus, the degradation the picture is prevented.</p> |
