PURPOSE:To obtain an annular molded article which is light in weight and has high rigidity, moreover, easy to grip and has excellent feel by making a molding into an annular shape, and specifying the ratio of the short diameter and long diameter in its cross-section. CONSTITUTION:An annular compound molded article is made such that the foamed rigid foam is rendered a core 1 and the circumference of the core 1 is cured and covered with resin 2 which is reinforced by fibers. The molding is an annular shape and has an elliptical cross-section wherein the ratio of the short diameter d1 and long diameter d2 is 10/12 or 10/20. And, as the d1/d2 becomes larger in its value than 10/12, it is not adaptable in grasping feelings, and further, as smaller in its value than 10/20, it is not preferable because of becoming feel as grasping a branch. The long diameter axis C-C of the elliptical cross-section is slanted at an angle of 10 degrees or 60 degrees with respect to the annular surface B-B. Where the value of theta is larger than 60 deg., it is extremely unnatural and hard to grasp depending upon the direction of the hand. The ratio of the larger radius of curvature r1 in one end of the long diameter and the radius of curvature in the other end in its cross-section is within the range of 1 or more and 5 or less. When the value of r1/r2 becomes 5 or more, the feel in grasping may be unnatural. Thus, the radius of curvature should be selected so that the cross-section becomes a smooth circular shape. |
