<p>PURPOSE: To automatically and quickly reconstitute a network by allowing all switches in the network to participate in a distribution reconstituting processing when the change of the network constitution is detected, and reealculating all legal paths for path designating a message packet through the network. CONSTITUTION: Each host 120 in a network is provided with a controller 122 for connecting the host 120 with different switches, and two links 128 and 130 for connecting the host 120 with switches 124 and 126 are structured in the same way, and only one of those two links is always made active. Also, a switch 140 is a multiport type non-blocked switch, and each switch simultaneously connects plural receiving links with different oscillating links. Then, when the active link between the host computer and the switch breaks down, the network controller 122 of the host automatically activates the other link, and reconnects this host with the network. Thus, the network can be automatically reconstituted in a short time.</p> |
