PURPOSE:To shorten the time of an updating work and to eliminate the wear, connection defect, etc., of the electric contact part of a ROM and a substrate by reading in a program for updating work from a floppy disk, etc., based on the load program of the ROM. CONSTITUTION:At the time of the updating work, an operator turns on an updating switch 16, loads a floppy disk 18 of the program for updating work to a disk drive 12 and sets the power source of a controller 1 into an on- condition. At such a time, a CPU 2 confirms the updating from the on-condition of the updating switch 16, thereafter, drives the disk drive 12 based on the load program stored in a ROM 4, reads the program for updating work, transfers it to a RAM 3 and makes a condition to execute the updating work by the program for updating work. Thus, the re-insertion of a hardware part, namely, the ROM 4 and the electric contact defect, etc., to accompany the re-insertion can be eliminated, and even the time necessary for the updating work can be shortened.
