PURPOSE: To simultaneously path-designate plural packets by successively comparing a resource request stored in a queue with a pair of available resources, selecting the first request among resource requests matched with this pair of available resources, and assigning the available resource to the resource request based on a first-come-first-served reference. CONSTITUTION: A route designation engine 430 of a router 218 compares a link available mask indicating an output link which is available at present with a route designating request. The cross bar of a route designation selected value generated by the route designation engine 430 prepares the multiplexer, and a designated input link is connected with one or more designated output links. A control circuit 435 generates a clock signal for the route designation engine 430 and a request selecting circuit 424, and the route designation engine 430 generates the route designation selected value, and outputs it to a bus 323 when the route designating request is matched with one or more available links. Thus, plural data packets can be simultaneously route-designated through a network. |
