PURPOSE:To reduce the burden imposed on an operator and to simplify a resetting switch by providing a developing unit incorporated in a process cartridge with a sheet-like member separating toner from a magnetic roll, and updating a counter at the same time an unused cartridge is mounted. CONSTITUTION:When the number of printing comes aclose to the limited number of printing of the process cartridge 21 during an image forming device is in use, a demand for the operator to replace the cartridge 21 is displayed in the image forming device. Here, the operator replaces the used cartridge 21 to the unused one. The toner sheal 22 is attached to the unused cartridge 21 so as to separate the toner 17 from the magnetic roll 18, and toner leakage is prevented. When the toner seal 22 is pulled out at the same time the toner cartridge 21 is mounted on the image forming device main body, the resetting switch 23 is turned on, the counter is automatically resetted, and the burden imposed on the operator is reduced. |
