<p>PURPOSE:To attain pronunciation of large volume by arranging electrodes to which pronunciation driving signals are supplied on the opposite faces of a pair of substrates opposed to each other with a fixed interval. CONSTITUTION:A pronunciation electrode 4 is formed on the substrate 2 and a ferroelectric liquid crystal panel 9 is constituted on a gap between a mirror face electrode 3 and the electrode 4 through orientation layers 5, 6. An infrared sensor 15 is connected to a circuit board 11. When a person is present front the panel, the sensor 15 senses the infrared ray emitted from a human body. When the sensor 15 is driven, a sound synthesizing circuit 13 supplies sound data at that time to a driving circuit 14 based on time data supplied from a clock circuit 12. Then the driving circuit 14 supplies a pronunciation driving signal to the electrodes 3, 4 on the panel 9. Thereby, the panel 9 is vibrated by the electrostrictive effect of the liquid crystal 7 and the time is informed by a voice.</p> |
