PURPOSE:To obtain a result of hair diagnosing with high reproducibility without reguiring skill by giving permanent hair-setting with twist in the hair and evaluating efficiency of the wave from the rate of fixed twist after the hair treatment. CONSTITUTION:One end of a piece of hair 2 is held by a holding section 3 and a holding section 4 is rotated to give a specified twist to the hair 2, and then the holding section 4 is embedded in a fixed section 6 to fix the section 4. After the hair is given permanent hair-setting by this arrangement, the section 4 is freed and the hair 2 to be tested in the testing apparatus is submerged in water. Because in the water the twist that is not permanently set is untwisted, the number of untwisting is read to calculate the rate of fixed twist and good results with high reproducibility for the efficiency of the wave can be given from the formula: Wave efficiency=(Number of initial twist-number of untwisting)/ (number of initial twist). |
