PURPOSE:To simplify a developing device and to miniatualize an image forming device by providing at least toner pool tanks as a developing unit and at least an ultrasonic vibrator as a driving device. CONSTITUTION:The developing device 1 is provided with four developing units 21 - 24 for storing each toner of yellow, magenta, cyan and black, the ultrasonic vibrator 3 being a driving device for driving at least one of the developing units 21 - 24 between an operating position and a waiting position, and a guiding member 5 for guiding at least one of the developing units 21 - 24 to the operat ing position. Here, developing liquid tanks 211, 221, 231 and 241 and developing electrode 212, 232 and 242 are included in the developing units 21 - 24. The ultrasonic vibrator 3 is constituted of a planar elastic body 6, a piezoelectric body 8a exciting expansion vibration and a piezolectric body 8b exciting bending vibration, and almost elliptic vibration is generated on a vibrating surface 7. Thus, the developing unit can be simplified and the image forming device can be miniatualized. |
