APPARATUS FOR SEPARATING IMMISCIBLE TWO LIQ- UIDS AND APPARATUS FOR DESALTING HYDROCARBON CHARGE

PURPOSE: To efficiently desalt by arranging a bundle of fiber which has preferential wetability to one of two liquids and by connecting the fiber assembly with a decanter and by separating two liquids with the decanter. CONSTITUTION: A crude oil is supplied to a desalter 20 through line 21 and desalted water is sent to line 21 through 22. A water phase 24 containing salt separated in the desalter 20 is discharged through line 25; and a hydrocarbon phase 19 is discharged from the upper part of the device toward a vertical casing 17 through line 26. The decanter 29 is heated by a hot water which is charged in its lining 32 by line 31 and discharged out by line 33. Drops of salt-containing water which suspend in hydrocarbon phase separated in the desalter 20 adhere to the fiber, and aggregate to form a film, and this film flows to the decanter 29. The water phase 35 is discharged from the bottom of the decanter through line 36 so that the desalting efficiency is improved.
