The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a metallic framework intended to equip profiles made from a resilient synthetic material with a U-shaped cross-section. This method comprises the following phases: - in a first phase, cuts are made in a strip 1 of mild steel perpendicular to its longitudinal axis, without removing material, in order therein to define identical thin strips 2 adjoining each other in pairs; - in a second phase, a compression is exerted on the cut strip 1, in three parallel directions, namely along its longitudinal axis X-X and along its lateral edges; - finally in a third phase, the strip 1 obtained at the end of the second phase is stretched out longitudinally in order to separate from one another those parts of the contiguous tongues which do not adjoining each other in the direction of the axis of the strip. <IMAGE>
