The invention relates to a ceiling with built-in lighting, particularly for a lift car. The ceiling consists of a box structure 16 added onto the existing ceiling 12 of the car, the said box structure accommodating the lighting means, such as electric lamps or fluorescent tubes 30, which are fixed to the ceiling, and being provided with a lower wall 18 which has a series of cutouts 22 conveniently distributed over the surface of the said wall in order to allow the light into the car. <IMAGE>
