PRODUCTION OF MAGNETIC HEAD

PURPOSE:To provide the higher inline accuracy of magnetic gaps and the narrower tracks and to assure a winding space as well as to improve crosstalk characteristics by joining and integrating core blocks in such a manner that the comb tooth parts of one connecting body of magnetic head elements are inserted into the groove parts of the other, then cutting the connecting part. CONSTITUTION:The butt surfaces of the magnetic core blocks 1, 2 are butted against each other and are joined and integrated in such a manner that the comb tooth parts 25, 26 of one of a pair of the connecting bodies of the magnetic head elements worked with the grooves to the comb tooth shapes 25, 26 are inserted into the groove parts 9, 10 of the other body; therefore, the magnetic gaps line up straight in the transverse direction of the tracks. In addition, inline defects and the phase deviation between the magnetic gaps is prevented. The loss by the phase deviation of the recording and reproducing signals is eliminated. Further, the winding grooves 9, 10 are disposed on the side opposite to each other on both sides of the magnetic gaps g<1>, g<2> and the thickness of the parts opposite to the winding grooves 9, 10 is set smaller than the depth of the winding grooves 9, 10. The winding space is, therefore, assured and the narrow inter-track spacing is obtd. Since the magnetic head is made into the form of the two discrete and individual magnetic head elements 1, 2 in such a manner, the crosstalk characteristics are improved.
