摘要 PURPOSE:To preserve foods for long periods by providing a vent for air in a vessel capable of keeping airtight and by providing in the vent a valve which opens when air is sucked out of the vessel and ordinarily keeps closed under atmospheric pressure. CONSTITUTION:Food is placed in a vessel 1 and a plate lid 2 is fitted on the vessel. The lower end of a suction pump (b) is put to a pump connector 3 or a vessel-with- valve (a). The user holds a handle 8 and moves a piston rod 9 up and down. When the piston rod 9 is moved upward, a cut-open-valve bore 10 is pushed open to suck air out of the vessel 1 and, when the piston rod is moved downward, a valve mechanism 23 in the pump 7 is actuated to discharge out of the pump 7 the air sucked out of the vessel 1. In this manner, once the pressure inside the vessel 1 is reduced, the valve 6 in the vessel 1 is pressed by atmospheric air and constantly keeps closed; the plate lid 2 fitted on the vessel 1 also keeps airtight. The vessel-with-valve (a) in this state is placed in a refrigerator for storage. An external force applied by fingers pressing down the valve 6'' in such a manner as to open the cut-open-valve bore 10 makes the cut-open-valve bore 10 open and makes the plate lid 2 easily detachable. This device enables storing foods for long periods of time. The use of the vessel-with- valve for a vessel for salting vegetable enables preparing salted vegetables in quick simple manner.
