The invention concerns a tool for use in a machine tool, in particular a precision-turning tool, with a main body (10) and a cutter holder (16) the position of which can be adjusted by means of an adjustment mechanism. In order to ensure high positioning and instrument read-out precision, the adjustment mechanism is designed as a three-stage device. A threaded spindle (26) is fitted in the main body (10) so that it can rotate but not move translationally. Fitted on the spindle (26) is a sliding ring (32) with an internal thread (30), the sliding ring being mounted so that it can slide parallel to the spindle (26) inside the main body (10). Mounted in the main body at right angles to the spindle (26) so that it can move translationally is a slider (40) carrying the cutter holder (16). Located on the slider (40) is a connecting link (44) which makes an acute angle with the spindle (26) and which engages in the sliding ring (36). The adjustment mechanism is operated by a graduated adjustment ring (20) rotatably mounted on the periphery of the main body (10) and by a crown-gear drive (22, 28). |
