The trasversely mounted vehicle engine (15) is arranged together with the gearbox (20) and driven axle (13) at one end of the vehicle , pref. the front end. The gearbox axis (23) is mounted at an angle (alhpa), pref. between 60 and 90 deg., most pref, 90 deg., w.r.t. the engine axis (17). USE/ADVANTAGE - Gearboxs of increased axial length can be accomodat-ed, despite width restrictions on the vehicle.
