Self-colouring electromagnetic stamp - with reciprocating plunger displaced against return spring by energising surrounding coil

The electromagnetic stamp, with a self-colouring stamping die (5), is operated via a wire coil (2), supplied with current to control the movement of a plunger (4) enclosed by the coil (2). The die (5) is attached to one end of the plunger (4), with a stator ring (6) at its opposite end providing a counter bearing for a coil spring (7). The end of the coil (2) adjacent the die (5) has a relatively thin annular disc (3). This is made of a magnetic material for ensuring a uniform magnetic force on the plunger (4) throughout its movement. USE - For stamping mark at spaced points along continuous paper web or on individual sheets.
