PRODUCTION OF MYCORRHIZAL INOCULUM BY STATIC CULTURE HYDROPONICS

A static hydroponic culture system for vesicular arbuscular mycorrhizae production is disclosed. Good fungus spore yields and host plant growth may be obtained with medium to high phosphorus concentrations where the initial mycorrhizal association is started at lower phosphorus concentrations. Host plant species should be selected for use of phosphorus. Many comestible plant species are suitable as host plants. Symbiotic mycorrhizal fungus propagules are harvested and stored, and may subsequently be used to infect plants.
