Producing permeable moulded bodies - using mould die made of base section, guide section and stamp fitted with air holes to ensure uniform porosity

Permeable moulded bodies are made by using a mould die made up of a base section (9) whose size corresponds to the dimensions of the green body to be pressed and a guide section (F) whose inner surfaces coincide with those of the base. The base is fitted to its upper edge with powder and the guide section mounted in place before the stamp (S) fitted with air holes (L) is pushed downwards into the die. USE/ADVANTAGE - Producing hot gas filters, permeable electrodes and catalyst supports. A body having uniform homogeneity is reproducibly made. Layers of different porosity can also be reproducibly made.
