The writing magnet of a magneto-optical recording and reproducing device can become so hot during operation that it must be cooled. To ensure effective cooling, the cooling body, which carries the writing magnet (M), is arranged above or below a rotating record carrier (compact disk). Cooling ribs (R) which run in the direction of rotation of the record carrier (compact disk) are provided on at least one side of the cooling body. The cooling body is suitable, for example, for magneto-optical recording and reproducing devices. |
