<p>An automatic feeder is for a bottling unit, esp. one using bottles made from plastics or other lightweight material stacked in layers on panels or other packaging on a pallet. The feeders consists of a platform (7) which can slide under the pallet and grip it before lifting the pallet and tripping the stacked bottles into a hopper (29) which feeds the bottling machine. The load on the platform is raised and tilted by levers (3,4) operated by power cylinders (1,5) which enable the pallet to be lifted while keeping it horizontal, and then tipping it once it has been raised to the level of the top of the hopper. The layers of bottles handled by the platform can be stacked in a cage, and the platform can be equipped with pivoted plates at the front to retain the load an dpneumatically-driven endless belts at the sides to facilitate loading.</p> |
