PURPOSE:To obtain the leaking liquid sensor with which the leakage of salt water, etc., can be checked at a glance by flatly disposing wire-shaped metals which vary in electrode potential with the leaking liquid of an electrolyte in a short-circuited state and covering the same with a liquid absorptive fabric impregnated with an acid-base indicator. CONSTITUTION:The leaking liquid sensor 1 is formed by grasping the wire-shaped electrodes 2 with upper and lower panel bodies 3, 4. The electrodes 2 are formed by juxtaposing, in parallel, two kinds of wire-shaped metals, for example, copper wires 2a and aluminum wires 2b, which vary in the electrode potential to the salt water of the electrolyte, and short-curcuiting the ends 2c on one side thereof. The many electrodes 2 are disposed in parallel to constitute a plane and are so disposed that the electrolysis by the electrodes 2 arises even if the salt water leaks at any point, The liquid absorptive fabric impregnated with the acid-base indicator is used for the upper panel body 3 and, therefore, the salt water penetrates into this fabric if the salt water leaks. A difference in the electrodes potential is then generated and a current flows between the wire-shaped metals which are disposed to short-circuit each other. The salt water is electrolyzed to from strong alkali which reacts with the acid-base indicator and develops a color. The visual checking of the leaking point at a glance is thus possible. |
