PURPOSE:To allow a resin to go into a recessed part on the surface, to improve the adhesive strength of the resin and a fiber and to contrive an excellent reinforcing effect by providing pieces of a recessed parts on at least a part in the longitudinal direction on the surface of a metallic fiber. CONSTITUTION:As for a method for forming a recessed part 2 on the surface in the longitudinal direction of a metallic fiber 4, for instance, a metallic plating layer 3 is formed on the surface of a metallic wire 1. When its metallic fiber 4 is impregnated with a resin, the resin goes into the recessed part 2 on its surface and fixed strongly. Therefore, adhesive strength of the resin and the metallic fiber 4 is improved, and an excellent reinforcing effect is obtained. Also, since the reinforcing metallic fiber 4 is excellent in electric conductivity and thermal conductivity, a reinforced resin product can be applied to parts to which it is necessary to shield electromagnetic wave and parts used in a high temperature atmosphere. |
