The multi-cylinder fuel injection engine of the invention comprises, for each cylinder, a "roof-shaped" combustion chamber (6) composed of two inclined flat walls (6a, 6b) joined at the summit by a cylindrical wall (6c) according to a diameter of the cylinder; two admission valves (4b) and two exhaust valves (5b) opening out into the inclined walls of the combustion chamber and arranged diametrically opposite one another; two spark plugs and a fuel injector (8) fitted on the cylindrical wall (6c) and directed towards the combustion chamber; a piston fitted with an upper diametrical protuberance (10) comprising a cylindrical channel (11c) defined by edges (12, 13) formed with two inclined lateral walls (11a, 11b) respectively.
