PURPOSE:To reduce production of a spent toner and tendency of charging up of a toner and to stabilize chargeability characteristics at the time of repeated uses by coating the core material of the carrier with a coating material comprising a specified vinyl copolymer and a fluororesin. CONSTITUTION:This carrier to be used is formed by coating the core material, such as ferrite particles, with the coating material containing the vinyl copolymer having a hydroxyl value of 1 - 100, such as a styrene.2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate.methyl methacrylate copolymer., and the fluororesin, such as a vinylidene fluoride-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer, and fine conductive particles of <=1.0 mum particle diameter, such as carbon black, dispersed into both resins. It is preferred to use the binary developer comprising the positively chargeable toner and the carrier. |
