PURPOSE:To obtain a feed additive comprising powdery isomaltooligosaccharide as a constituent component, having improved stability during production and preservation, preventing discoloration by adsorbing an aqueous solution of isomaltooligosaccharide on a silicic acid compound. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution of isomaltooligosaccharide is adsorbed on a silicic acid compound to give the aimed feed additive. The isomaltooligosaccharide is different from maltose, which is a polymer of glucose, a monosaccharide by alpha-1,4 bond and is a general term of oligosaccharides having <=10 degree of polymerization prepared by polymerizing glucose by alpha-1,6 bond, alpha-1,3 bond or alpha-1,3 bond. Powdered isomaltooligosaccharide thus obtained, namely powdery animal feed additive has a ratio of 0.05-3 pts.wt. isomaltooligosaccharide and 1 pt.wt. silicic acid compound and further the water content of the powdery isomaltooligosaccharide is preferably <=20wt.% in terms of storage stability of mold emergence, etc. |
