PURPOSE:To enhance triboelectrification characteristics and mechanical durability and to maintain the quality of images after successive copying as same as that obtained in the early stage by incorporating a specified colorant treated with a specified compound. CONSTITUTION:The color toner to be used is composed essentially of a binder resin and at least one of the colorants represented by formulae I - III and treated on the surface with the compound represented by formula IV in which X is amino, vinyl, epoxy, or the like, and R is alkoxy or aryloxy, and the compound of formula IV can be embodied by formula V and the like. It is preferred to further add a metal salt of salicylic acid or its derivative, such as 3, 5-di-tertiary-butyl salicylate to the toner. |
