The rectangular waveguide, housing the comb-type filter system consists of a resonator cascade, whose resonators number of corresponds to the number of oscillations circuits of the filter system. The resonators are capacitively loaded and are of round or rectangular cross-section, or are in the form of strip guides. The system intercoupling is decisive for the oscillation circuits. The comb-type or interdigital filters are mounted parallel to the narrow side fo the waveguide in its midplane. The waveguide width is symmetrically restricted in the filter region. The bandwidth of the filter system is determined by the selection of the position of the first and the last resonator repectively, in relation to the restricted part of the waveguide width.
