<p>PURPOSE:To improve the flexibility and safety of a production system by providing a carriage, wherein three directional travel is controlled by a controller, with a detecting means for detecting obstacles in moving directions and by stopping the carriage when the door of the entrance of a safety shelf is opened. CONSTITUTION:The pallet, on which a workpiece is secured on a setup table according to the command from a production control computer 1, is placed on the carriage 5 having traveled to the position of the setup table being controlled by a controller 2. In addition the carriage 5 travels to the position of the specified machine tool 3 or a shelf 4 and levels the pallet by vertically moving the pallet and places the pallet on the machine tool 3 or the shelf 4. In this case, the carriage 5 runs detecting obstacles by a detecting means 6 and stops upon detecting an obstacle. In addition the safety devices 7 and 8 of the safety shelf arranged around the traveling range of the carriage stops the carriage 6 immediately when the door of the safety shelf. In such manner the flexibility and safety of a production system can be improved.</p> |
