PURPOSE:To surely and easily decide a gap position, by providing a dummy block to a magnetic core of one side for a magnetic head forming magnetic gap through a pair of magnetic cores butted together. CONSTITUTION:After a core 12 winding a coil 11 on a core support 10 and a dummy block 13 with different light refraction rate from other parts of a sliding surface are disposed and fixed, a butt surface is processed for shaping to form a core assemble semisphere 15 (thus, in forming a head, one side ridge of the dummy block 13 is coincident with the location of the magnetic gap). Next, the said core semisphere and a core semisphere not assembled with the dummy block are butted and fixed and bonded, then the assembly is assembled in a shield case 16, an adhesive 17 is filled and cured for incorporation to form a magnetic head 18 by polishing the tape sliding surface. When the said magnetic head is scanned with a video camera along the A-A' line, a signal output is rapidly changed at the presence (symbol (a)) of the magnetic gap and the gap position is clearly decided. |
