It comprises a spring formed by a "U"-shaped metallic rod with a tendency to maintain its ends close together, which ends include individual suction cups which have their concave faces facing each other. One of the suction cups has an axial passage and connection for linking up a hose. By virtue of the spring, the suction cups close off, under pressure, the sea water inlet orifices of the motor's cooling circuit. The hose supplies the necessary freshwater for cleaning the cooling circuit with the vessel afloat, without the need to transfer the motor onto land. <IMAGE>
