PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition which can give a film excellent in slidability, transparency, etc., by mixing a polyester with a slurry of crosslinked polystyrene particles specified in a heat decomposition temperature and a mean particle diameter with a vented molding machine. CONSTITUTION:A polyester consisting of a bifunctional acid component based on an aromatic dicarboxylic acid (e.g. terephthalic acid) and at least one glycol component (e.g. ethylene glycol) is fed to a vented molding machine and melted by heating, and an aqueous slurry of crosslinked polystyrene particles of a heat decomposition temperature >=380 deg.C and a mean particle diameter of 0.01-5mum and/or an organic compound of a b.p. <=200 deg.C (e.g. methanol) are added to the melt and mixed. In this way, a monodisperse crosslinked polystyrene-containing polyester can be easily obtained, and a film of the obtained polyester can be desirably used as e.g. a magnetic tape. |
