The equipment for making composite electrical insulators consisting of a central core 3 provided with an insulating covering 4 of elastomeric material comprises a base structure 6 to which a first and a second end termination 5a, 5b of the core 3 are fixed, respectively, by a bracket 7a and by two half-moulds for injection moulding 8a which can be brought together. At least two half-moulds for forming 9a, 9b designed to form a filling enclosure 9c around the core 3 are mounted on the base structure 6. An injection nozzle 11 communicates with a guiding cavity 12 which is coaxial with the central core 3 and is formed between the half-moulds for injection moulding 8a and a containing sleeve 13 mounted on the second termination 5b. The guiding cavity 12 communicates directly with the filling enclosure 9c to enable the elastomeric material to be injected with a flow in the axial direction with respect to the central core 3, preventing lateral bending of the latter. <IMAGE> |
