<p>The system consists of a conventional reciprocating windscreen wiper motor (3), drive spindle (4), arm and wiper blade. When the vehicle's own wipers are unserviceable, the driver attaches the system to the roof using a rubber suction cup (1) and a plunger handle (2). The arm is adjusted using a setting screw (5) until the wiper is held against the screen by a spring (6).
