The portable collapsible ladder uses pin-joints between the rungs and the posts. O-section each each house two longitudinal bars with a gap between them. Rung ends fit between the bars and the connection is made by a pivot pin passing through aligned holes in both the bars and the rung. The ends of the posts may be plugged and the posts may maintain the same longitudinal relationship whether the ladder be extended or collapsed. A pin-jointed brace may extend between a rung and two separate bar lengths, a hinged handle mounted on the post using lugs entering post windows to lock the assembly whether extended or collapsed.
