PURPOSE:To enable reproduction of information without using a special large- scale equipment after the information is recorded in the medium by providing a transparent substrate, specified optical recording film and reflecting film, and specifying thickness of the optical recording film. CONSTITUTION:The optical recording medium consists of a transparent substrate 13, optical recording film 12 and reflecting film 11. The optical recording film 12 consists of GeSe having specified thickness of 80 - 120 nm. This medium satisfies the reflectance standard for a general-use reproduction-only optical disk, that is, >=70% reflectance. When the medium is irradiated with laser light for recording, the recording film 12 is locally heated where irradiated with light and causes thermal deformation of the substrate 13 adjacent to the recording film 12. Thus, recording is done, and then the information can be reproduced at any time without requiring a special process such as coating of a reflecting film on the medium. |
