A torque measurement sensor, mounted on the surface of a hollow shaft, consists of magnetic material (28) joined to the shaft (1) and a measurement coil (8) mounted above the material. The material and coil have a magnetic cage conisting of an outer housing (4) and an inner protective casing (2). The magnetic material can be mounted at distance from the surface of the shaft, e.g, on a magnetic carrier casing. USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. for mounting on hollow shaft with internal control element. Reduces errors caused by stray magnetic fields and increases torsion measurement accuracy.
